1842'O' Extremely Fine and exhibiting a trace of greenish-golden toning on either side. As is typical of most New Orleans Mint Quarter Eagles of this type, there is some softness of strike at the centers. The surface quality, however, is largely smooth and there remains some ever so subtle traces of mint lustre in the most protected areas of the design. This very scarce date enjoys a mintage of only 19,800 pieces. NGC XF40.
