1865'S' WB.101. Small Broken Mintmark. Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated, and a borderline Gem. Frosty...1865'S' WB.101. Small Broken Mintmark. Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated, and a borderline Gem. Frosty and bright on the obverse with ample lustre and a touch of peripheral russet. The reverse is well matched with speckled gold and russet through the legend, and traces of blue intermixed. A magnifier will reveal a couple of minor spots of surface roughness, some around the date, others above the wings in the field. An impressive example of this date and likely well up in the Condition Census published in January 2004, which included 5 examples of this variety in Uncirculated grades.

Ex R. L. Miles Collection (Stack's, April 1969, lot 1354).
