 1862 Choice Brilliant Proof. A desirable example of this date, with wonderful old steel-gray toning with iridescent accents particularly near the rims. The strike is full and complete and the delicate fields show minimal hairlines or handling marks. The devices are well frosted and provide the desired contrast expected. A scant 550 were struck in Proof.
