The fields are wholly prooflike and reflective, unlike the typical circulation strike. Perhaps this is a Presentation striking of some sort. The mintmark is slightly repunched on the upper left inside portion. The stripes within the shield are not reflective, but all other portions of the field are mirror-like. Identifiable by a short lintmark that curls off the upper serif to the left from the final 'S' of STATES. An impressive coin, regardless of its striking status, and certainly unlike most circulation strikes of this issue.
