1941 No Designer's Initials. Gem Brilliant Proof. Bright and untoned, and lacking all but a trace...1941 No Designer's Initials. Gem Brilliant Proof. Bright and untoned, and lacking all but a trace of the usual paper haze on the surfaces. The strike is bold on all the high points, and the examination will find traces of handling on the eagle's thigh and breast. Apparently the designer's initials were polished off the die when it was being finished for the coining process.
