1795 B.5. BB-27. Star 1 Free of Curl, 3 Leaves. Choice Brilliant Uncirculated. The distinctive bar in the field extends downward into the field from the top curl, a few widely separated adjustment marks near the lower edge can be detected with a glass. This is distinguished by two berries in line below the first 'T' in STATES. Die State III shows a fine crack linking the left wreath stem end to the rim. The near-perfection of this extraordinary coin must be seen to be believed. The delightfully smooth obverse of this wondrously toned coin presents a symphony of immaculate pale blue and rose with sparkling overtones of iridescent silver. All stars and curls are sharp, the date is precise and evenly spaced. The silvery reverse shows a sheen of fine blue over details of medallic perfection. A finer coin for any high quality date-variety or type collection is hard to imagine.
