The fields exhibit the characteristics of a coin that has been in jewelry but the edge does not show any mount marks or repair work. The coin has a decent strike and still has a quality appearance. The as yet unpublished Bass-Dannreuther early gold reference estimates a surviving population of 50 pieces of this variety.
