Extremely Fine. Greenish-gold toning over slightly reflective surfaces. The fields exhibit the characteristics of a coin that has been in jewelry but the edge does not show any mount marks or repair work. The coin has a decent strike and still has a quality appearance. The as yet unpublished Bass-Dannreuther early gold reference estimates a surviving population of 50 pieces of this variety. |

Choice Extremely Fine in terms of wear but the coin has been previously cleaned and has a light greenish-gold tint. The reverse shows a few scratches over somewhat reflective surfaces. The strike is decent with some lustre still remaining. This early Quarter Eagle still has a decent appearance and should be viewed closely. |
