 1880 Superb Gem Brilliant Uncirculated. Here is a simply fabulous example of this low mintage issue. A wealth of fiery satin-silk mint bloom combines with meticulously struck legends and design features. The lustre and visual allure of this beauty is as ''fresh'' as the day on which it was minted. The surface quality, furthermore, is virtually beyond comparison as one must look with great scrutiny to discover even the most minor of imperfections. Only 1600 business strikes and 36 proofs were coined of this date. Of the known business strike survivors, there cannot possibly be more than a select few that could in any way overshadow the quality of the jewel offered here. NGC MS68.
