 1839'D' Blundered 9. Extremely Fine. Wonderful overall detail results from a bold strike for this example of the first Dahlonega date. An older generation of collectors called this '1839/8', but this digit anomaly is now recognized as a defective date punch rather than a true overdate. Delightfully even golden color highlights the boldness of the details.
