1787 New Jersey Copper. Maris 64-t. Morristown Mint. Large Planchet. 152.7 grains. Very Fine. Glossy, dark brown surfaces have a lovely apple green patina that is reminiscent of an ancient Roman bronze coin. Surfaces exhibit some graininess, but are quite attractive overall, with some planchet roughness showing through at the central reverse due to a lack of sufficient metal flow during striking. Struck from the late state of the reverse die featuring a die crack from shield to denticles around 5:00.
