1786 New Jersey Copper. Maris 46-e. Rahway Mint. 148.5 grains. About Uncirculated. A high grade example of this variety. The obverse and reverse are both a nice, rich and deep golden brown in color. The fields are mostly smooth and hard except for where the clash marks typical of these dies show boldly. The centers on both sides are clear and the only softness evident is on the '17' in the date, this also due to die damage resulting from the clashing. Both sides are only slightly off center affecting just the denticles.
