Smooth and glossy brown, with areas of planchet roughness at the left obverse and reverse and an old hairline across the reverse. Painted Die Variety, incorrectly attributed as 39.1-ff.2.

Ex lot 155 of an unidentified Henry Chapman auction, lot envelope enclosed. Also included is a round ''circle H'' ticket with the incorrect attribution on one side and a difficult to read note that might read ''The best Rev from Steig [???] Feb/90 cost HL''; New Netherlands Coin Company.
