1786 Vermont Copper. Landscape type. Ryder 8 (R-4). VERMONTENSIUM. 111.0 grains. Very Fine. Very nice, rich tobacco brown in color on both sides. Surfaces fairly smooth and hard most everywhere. Softly struck on the obverse over the plough, on the back at bottom and lower left. Ever so slightly off-center on both sides but without serious effect. Double punched '1' in the date visible despite the softness above it.
