1652 Pine Tree Shilling. Small Planchet. Noe 17 (R-3). 68.6 grains. Very Fine. Here is a pleasing,...1652 Pine Tree Shilling. Small Planchet. Noe 17 (R-3). 68.6 grains. Very Fine. Here is a pleasing, medium coin silver gray specimen with overtones of rose and gold. A curious elongation of the planchet above the 'V' of MASATHVSETS reveals a very well done ''plug'' and reengraving of the affected letters. Despite this shortcoming, the eye appeal of this Small Planchet issue is quite high.
