State of New York. June 15, 1780 Act. 20 Dollars. No.212. Contemporary Counterfeit. ''Signed'' by...State of New York. June 15, 1780 Act. 20 Dollars. No.212. Contemporary Counterfeit. ''Signed'' by Evert Bancker and Henry Rutgers. Guaranteed by the United States Issue. ''Countersigned'' on the back by A.[braham] Yates. Extremely Fine. Hole cancelled. Light fold, corner handling and very short edge tear at the bottom. This is a rare series of notes, even for a contemporary counterfeit. This is the classic type, with the 'I' in Interest at the lower left very low compared to the rest of the lettering in that word. Any note from this issue is desirable, including this contemporary counterfeit type. One of the very few we have ever seen.
