 1871 Choice Brilliant Proof. There is an obverse hairline scratch on Liberty's thigh, otherwise this glittering jewel is easily Very Choice or better. Toned with coppery-gold hues through the fields and surrounding the frosty devices, and highly appealing. The fields and devices are otherwise of stunning quality, but as is so often the case one minor mishap of the past has limited the grade, though not the overall appeal. Still and all, a great collector coin for the specialist.
