Gorgeous pastel toning is perfectly matched on both sides and ranges through blue and magenta and fades to a rich coppery-gold which extends to the centers and highlights the devices. Any collector who appreciates toned coins will love this piece. Fully struck with well preserved fields and devices. Hairlines, if present at all, are very faint and hidden by the delicate toning. A simply outstanding coin in every way. On this die pairing, the date is slightly repunched and slants down to the right. An early striking from the obverse, as the repunching is sharper than usually seen, more so than on the previous example in this auction. This coin is one which the next buyer will find very difficult to ever part with and irreplaceable at any price.
