 1866 Gem Brilliant Proof and enjoying wonderfully watery, unencumbered mirror fields beneath balanced pale mauve toning. Traces of repunching are detectable at the top of the second '6' in the date. The design elements are razor-sharp, and are blanketed in an ever so dense veil of cameo frost. A total of 725 Proofs of this date were coined, the vast majority of which are clearly inferior to the coin offered here.
