 1862 Brilliant Proof or a trifle better. Reverse Hub Variety II as are all coins minted of this date. Noticeable hairlines are most obvious when this specimen is rotated under a strong lamp. The devices maintain their full countenance, and the fields are not at all lacking in mirror-proof vibrancy. Of the 550 Proofs that were coined of this vintage, many were unsold and found their demise in the melting pot.
