1829/7 O.101a. Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated. This coin enjoys an outstanding visual presentation which includes radiant lustre in the fields and gorgeous deep blue and russet-gold toning throughout. The strike is sharp and just a couple of stars show minor central softness. Struck from a lapped reverse die, with the arrow shafts thin or incomplete near the claws. On the obverse the left side of the rim shows weakness from die or collar wear, and most of the stars are drawn toward the edge. Certainly within the select group of the Condition Census for the variety, and a coin which few could best on either technical merits or visual appeal. All four digits in the date show traces of repunching or the overdate, and as such this is an excellent coin for study by variety specialists.
