 1909'O' Gem Brilliant Uncirculated. Outstanding quality for this date and mint, with a reasonably sharp strike on the eagle's claw and wing. Toned with rich coppery-gold near the rims and traces of royal blue intermixed. A strong magnifier will discover a few trivial scuffs on Liberty's neck, but they do not detract significantly, and this one remains a solid Gem example with booming eye appeal and excellent surfaces. The New Orleans Mint ticked off 712,000 examples of this date, precious few of which survive in Mint State grades, and in full Gem the number is but a handful. This coin last appeared nearly 50 years ago and has been off the market since that time. A worthy opportunity for the specialist who needs a strong and impressive example of this date.
