 1899 Choice Brilliant Proof. The obverse has some faint facial slide marks while the reverse is essentially of Gem quality. Toned with peripheral rose-gold and quite attractive. Many of these delicate Proof Barber Quarters show minor horizontal disturbances of the frost on Liberty's cheek and neck, which were caused by the plastic slides of the albums often used to display coins. The vast majority of the 846 pieces coined show these slide marks to some degree, usually heavier than seen here.
