No Date (1688) Plantation ''Halfpenny'' (1/24 real). Circa 1828 Restrike. Breen 78. About Uncirculated. This coin is a restrike from original dies by London coin dealer Matthew Young circa 1828. As with the originals, even these tin restrikes were at the mercy of tin pest. Fortunately, this specimen is not very corroded, although the surfaces have turned a deep battleship gray with hints of original lustre in and around the edges of the devices and a larger rough area around 'PA' of PART on the reverse.
