1889 Choice Brilliant Proof and easily a full Gem were it not for a few obverse facial slide marks....1889 Choice Brilliant Proof and easily a full Gem were it not for a few obverse facial slide marks. Watery, wholly mirrored fields amply augment cameo legends and design elements. The ''arm's length'' presentation of this coin is highly appealing, and is tastefully completed by a uniform shade of russet-mauve toning on either side. Breen lists a Proof mintage of 711 pieces, that being consistent with the number of Proof Quarters and Half Dollars produced. The Redbook, however, lists this mintage as 811 pieces.

Lot # 4519 Session 3
Hammer Price: $3,250.00
