 1873 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated and just bordering on full Gem. Outstanding in every respect with deep coppery-gold toning and blue accents near the rims. The devices and fields show scattered handling nicks with a strong loupe, but these are minor and this coin is considerably finer than usually encountered. Fairly well struck although there is a touch of weakness on Liberty's hair and a few upper stars. As a date, the 1873 is difficult to find so choice; a handful are known that would be the equal to the present example, but very few exist that would be considered finer. A delightful coin for the specialist who appreciates surface quality and bold visual appeal.
