 1799 Apostrophe 'S'. B.9. Very Fine and boasting superb eye appeal for the grade. Surfaces are an icy silver-gray hue with pale lavender at the high points of the devices and lustre flow lines at the peripheries of both sides. Well centered and seemingly well struck for the remaining details. Here is a rather problem-free specimen of this interesting die variety featuring die crumbling next to the second 'S' of STATES that has been likened to an apostrophe.
