 1882 Transitional Liberty Head Nickel. Judd 1690 (R-5). Copper-nickel, PE. Very Choice Brilliant Proof, perhaps only a freckle on the obverse rim away from full Gem. 74.9 grains. Glass-glittering fields highlight the delicately frosted reliefs. Stars surround the Liberty Head by Charles E. Barber, almost identical to the type adopted in 1883. This reverse shows a very faint hairline or two to the diligent searcher.
