1882 Transitional Liberty Head Nickel. Judd 1690 (R-5). Copper-nickel, PE. Very Choice Brilliant...
Very Choice Brilliant Proof, perhaps only a freckle on the obverse rim away from full Gem. 74.9 grains. Glass-glittering fields highlight the delicately frosted reliefs. Stars surround the Liberty Head by Charles E. Barber, almost identical to the type adopted in 1883. This reverse shows a very faint hairline or two to the diligent searcher.
743 1883 No CENTS. Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $550.00

Strongly struck with appealing reflective fields. Steel-gray toning adds to the eye appeal.
744 1883 With CENTS. Brilliant Proof BR PF $150.00

- or slightly finer. Delicate gold and light russet toning includes an old fingerprint trace on the minutely detailed reverse.
745 1889 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $80.00

Deep gold and gray toning over lightly spotted surfaces. The lustre is a bit subdued but overall this coin still has decent appeal.
746 1893 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $200.00

Silvery lustre offers the faintest wisp of pale gold. This virtual Gem's strike is delightfully full. PCGS MS64.
747 1895 Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated VERY CH BU $350.00

A bold strike joins appealing full cartwheel lustre and a whisper of clearest gold. PCGS MS64.
748 1895 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $280.00

Another. Pleasing frosty surfaces have a touch of pale gold, a hairline or two in the right obverse field.
749 1897 Choice Brilliant Uncirculated CH BU $110.00

- with some claims to a higher designation. Well struck with olive-gold toning that gives this coin nice eye appeal.
750 1899 Brilliant Uncirculated BU $85.00

Very well struck with deep gray toning. The lustre is subdued somewhat by the toning but still has a nice original look.
751 1904 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $500.00

752 1906 Gem Brilliant Uncirculated GEM BU $500.00

Rich tawny gold toning accentuates the forceful reflective beauty of this later-date strike. NGC MS65.
753 1909 Choice Brilliant Proof CH BR PF $500.00

- perhaps a bit better. Deeply reflective fields contrast with frosted devices. The color is mainly steel-gray with a band of light gold across the front. Some light PVC film still adheres to the surfaces but that should be removable.
754 1909 Brilliant Proof BR PF $90.00

Another. Here is a coin that most probably was Gem Proof when it entered its paper 2X2, but has since taken on spots of corrosion on the reverse, at the rims, and at the central obverse.
