1823/2 JR.3. Large Es. Brilliant Uncirculated. Virtually a Choice example. Gorgeous blue, sea-green and gold peripheral toning on both sides, with the centers lighter silver. Sharp on the obverse stars and curls, although not as bold as seen on the prior example of this variety, with the reverse well struck on all devices except the eagle's claws. Clean surfaces and an attractive coin for the date collector. Curiously, this obverse die was not used to coin 1822 Dimes, but must have been leftover from that year and overdated in 1823.
