1835 Br.2, C.2. (R-6 as proof). Proof-60 and enjoying strong claims to a higher grade. This very rare early Proof shows a blend of deep rose-red and russet iridescence on either side. There are a few tiny spots that account for the grade; one on the rim near star two, another above star six, and a third below the 35. On the reverse, there is a spot between the 'TE' of UNITED. Faint hairlines are visible with a loupe, but no other surface problems are present. Perhaps a total of two dozen or so Proofs are known, and this one is pleasing despite the minor spots noted.
