Distant 9 over 6, Wide even legend AU-53 $550.00 About Uncirculated-53. Attractive light brown to tan on the obverse and reverse, and appealing for this date. Problem-free surfaces with no spots or corrosion. The handling marks are average for the grade. 3533 1809/6 Br.5, C.5. Distant 9 over 6, Wide even legend AU-50 $550.00 About Uncirculated-50. A well struck coin that has light brown color and clean surfaces. Breen die state IV. 3534 1810 Br.1, C.1. Mint State-60 MS-60 $1,700.00 Brown. Light brown with a few small darker spots. Breen die state III. A barely detectable, ever so faint scratch slips through Liberty's leading curls behind her face. 3535 1825 Br.1, C.1. (High R-3). Wide date, curl above 5. Mint State-60 MS-60 $550.00 - in terms of wear. Cleaned long ago and now retoning an attractive tan over faded red. Slightly hazy, a result of long, undisturbed storage. Breen die state II. The present coin has the raised vertical lump near star twelve, apparently from a broken collar used during striking. Such flaws are rarely seen on any denomination. The presently offered variety is often found with this mint-made...  more 3536 1825 Br.2, C.2. Close date, curl above 25. Mint State-63 MS-63 $1,700.00 - or better. Red and brown. A very pleasing coin that boasts plenty of faded mint red mingled with light brown hues on either side. The surfaces are clean and free of spots. Breen die state III. 3537 1826 Br.1, C.1. File marks right of 6, High leaf beyond S. AU-50 $140.00 Easily About Uncirculated-50 or better, however there is evidence of a past light cleaning. Sharply struck and glossy, with traces of simulated mint color in the protected areas. There is an unfortunate spot extending from the 'N' of UNITED to the rim. 3538 1828 Br.2, C.3. 18 28, High leaf beyond S. Mint State-65 MS-65 $13,000.00 Red. One of the finer examples that undoubtedly came from the hoard reportedly handled by Benjamin H. Collins in the 1890's. Fiery bright red throughout save for a very tiny speck above Liberty's ribbon end in the right field. Most examples are spotted or mottled, but the present coin is a delightful exception and represents an opportunity for the astute numismatist to purchase an exceptional...  more 3539 1828 Br.3, C.2. Twelve Stars. Mint State-60 MS-60 $1,400.00 - or essentially so. Brown. An attractive light olive-brown example. There is one inconspicuous edge reverse dent above the 'TA' of STATES. Breen die state II. Quite scarce this nice. 3540 1829 Br.1, C.1. Choice Mint State-63 CH MS $500.00 Brown. Light tan patina exhibits traces of mint red in the protected areas. Excellent surfaces and overall quality for the date. Breen die state II. 3541 1829 Br.1, C.1. Mint State-60 MS-60 $650.00 - with claims to a higher grade. Brown. Bathed in tan lustre throughout and highly appealing. There is a minor toning streak extending up from the 'E' of LIBERTY to the rim, otherwise this velvet-like example is easily Choice. Breen die state II. 3542 1832 Br.1, C.1. Mint State-60 MS-60 $275.00 Brown. An attractive coin that has a few minor specks on the obverse and reverse. Light brown toning is somewhat mottled on the reverse. Breen die state III. 3543 1833 Br.1, C.1. Very Choice Proof-64 VERY CH PF $9,500.00 Red and Brown. An exceptional early Proof coin that shows rich mint color on either side. The obverse field has slightly faded to a subtle iridescent jade surrounding Liberty. The reverse retains full glowing mint red color. Well frosted on Liberty's bust with there being no significant specks or spots that detract from the surfaces. A later die state for the Proofs, this is Breen's state IV...  more 3544 1833 Br.1, C.1. Mint State-60 MS-60 $350.00 - and offering the appearance of a higher grade. Likely recolored in a convincing fashion very long ago and now acquiring a pleasant chocolate-brown patina. There are only a few light specks, mostly on the reverse. The most notable are on the ninth star and between UN of UNITED. Breen die state V. 3545 1834 Br.1, C.1 CH AU $100.00 Choice About Uncirculated-55. Medium brown on the obverse, mottled darker brown on the reverse. One small edge nick at 7:00 as well as another Liberty's truncation are noted. Average handling marks and a few minor specks on the reverse. Breen die state II. 3546 1835 Br.1, C.1. ST far apart CH AU $170.00 Choice About Uncirculated-55. There is a blend of olive-green and brown toning on both the obverse and reverse. Tiny traces of reddish deposits can be found under close scrutiny within isolated areas of the peripheral obverse devices. Breen die state II. 3547 1835 Br.2, C.2. (R-6 as proof). Proof-60 PF-60 $3,000.00 - and enjoying strong claims to a higher grade. This very rare early Proof shows a blend of deep rose-red and russet iridescence on either side. There are a few tiny spots that account for the grade; one on the rim near star two, another above star six, and a third below the 35. On the reverse, there is a spot between the 'TE' of UNITED. Faint hairlines are visible with a loupe, but no other...  more 3548 1837 Hulseman's Half Cent Token. Low-49. Mint State-60 MS-60 $1,200.00 This example is primarily toned a pleasant medium brown with subtle iridescent emerald highlights. Tinges of red are evident in the protected areas. The strike is a bit weak on the eagle's head as is often seen, and the surfaces are free of any of the spots or other problems so often encountered. Scarce this nice. 3549 1837 Hulseman's Half Cent Token. Low-49. Mint State 60 (see below) $1,300.00 Well matched to the previous coin, but offering a bit more mint color and a somewhat sharper strike. There is a minor green speck on the ninth reverse star that hardly warrants mention. A clean, nicely balanced example with no handling disturbances. These tokens were included in Wayte Raymond's National Pages for many years, and hence have become part of a general Half Cent collection...  more Page 1 of 1  •  First  Previous  Next  Last
