1911'D' Very Choice Brilliant Uncirculated. This magnificent amber gold example has wonderful surfaces that are devoid of any meaningful signs of contact. A needle sharp strike makes all devices, including the ever important mintmark, bold and clear. Satiny mint lustre blankets the surfaces for added visual appeal. Gold coins of this date and mintmark combination of all denominations are scarce in high grades. This particular issue is very rare at this level of preservation. Only five examples have been graded higher by both major services combined, and neither NGC nor PCGS has graded a single coin above MS65. This coin is clearly among the cream of the crop and will certainly elicit spirited bidding. NGC MS64.
