1871'CC' About Uncirculated. Delicate satiny mint lustre is accompanied by an ever so subtle blush of pale coppery toning. There are a few trivial obverse reeding marks on Liberty's cheekbone, otherwise this smooth, well struck specimen is almost entirely defect-free. Quite rare in this condition. The visual allure and wholesome nature of this example certainly will be appreciated by all specialists within this series!
With both this and the prior lot having been placed into this auction by the same consignor, we cannot applaud him more for having the forethought to acquire two such impressive coins of this important issue. An eye for quality and an appreciation of rarity such as that exhibited here is seldom encountered even today.
