Uncut Sheet of First Issue Postage Currency 10¢ Fr.1240. Milton 1R10.3b. Likely Rarity 8. Perforated...Uncut Sheet of First Issue Postage Currency 10¢ Fr.1240. Milton 1R10.3b. Likely Rarity 8. Perforated edges, with 'ABC' monogram on the back. Twenty impressions configured four vertically by five horizontally. Complete and original selvege, as printed, around the entire perimeter. Face Plate 33. Back Plate Not Printed. Extremely Rare and Not Represented in the F.C.C. Boyd/John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part III Sale. Another superb condition sheet. Accurately, Choice Almost Uncirculated, due to some handling only. The handling in a few places is a bit heavy and more visible from the back. On the bottom back selvege is a small region of soiling. The perforations on the vertical are superbly placed. The horizontal perforation lines are placed in a superior fashion. Overall, the individual notes would be considered Choice to Gem. Two pressman fingerprints on the left back edge. From the back, the third and fourth vertical rows of notes are lightly toned compared to the adjacent rows and selvege.

From the face, the rich color and vibrancy is vivid to the eye and this is a magnificent uncut sheet. A fabulous item for the finest collection of Fractional Currency and available for the first time to the collecting fraternity.

Straight edge sheets are also available, but not in perforated form (see Kravitz, page 119). The Encyclopedia reports Face Plate 10, but not 33. However, is this a full sheet that was observed or was it just a left side vertical strip with selvege?

The pressman fingerprints are evidence of the security and printing procedures for this issue. The sheet's back was printed at the American Bank Note Company (hence the 'ABC' monogram imprinting their work at the bottom right corner). The face was printed from the National Bank Note Company plate at their premises and obviously the fingerprints are from their workman during the placement into their press for completion of the sheet.
