 1899 Gem Brilliant Proof. Icy rose and ivory tones frame a frosty Liberty Head that is haloed by iridescent amber and rose toning in the immediately adjacent fields. The reverse, in stark contrast to the obverse, is mostly milky white and better showcases this coin's remarkable cameo nature. A more eye appealing specimen of this date would be very difficult to acquire, given a mintage of just 846 pieces.
