 1895 Gem Brilliant Proof. A really pretty coin and one of the nicest we can remember handling of this date in Proof. The front and back are bright full deep mirrors with pleasing flash when angled in the light. The central devices are clear and frosty with just light gloss showing on some of the eagle's feathers. The fields are glassy smooth and have the desired watery look of a great Proof. The rims on both sides are wreathed in iridescent blue and gold toning while the center of the obverse is pale gold and the center of the reverse is bright and untoned. Only 880 Proofs were struck.
