 1897 Gem Brilliant Proof. A gorgeous two-tone cameo Proof with wonderful eye appeal and great quality. The piece is toned on the front in iridescent blue and gold around a bright and frosty center that is still untoned. The back is a blazing gem toning scheme with rich gold around the rim and the rest bright white and fully frosty. The fields are superb glass mirrors with deep Proof flash in the light. The strike on both sides is sharp and bold. All in all, this coin has it all, great eye appeal, low Proof mintage, and superb quality. Only 731 Proofs were struck.
