1793 S.9. Wreath. Plain Edge(?). Good-6. Here is an enigmatic Wreath Cent with what appears to be a Plain Edge, a subvariety of which only two were previously known. Close scrutiny under magnification reveals a few light marks that appear to be the faint remnants of the bars that would be found on the Vine and Bars edge. The coin is in a very late die state with the reverse die failing at the lower right area of the wreath. The surfaces are lightly granular, but appear smooth and glossy to the naked eye. The date is visible, although it is beginning to wear into the lower rim. All mottoes are at least partially visible, some quite bold in areas and then missing in other areas due to the bulging dies. A very unusual specimen that is quite pleasing for the grade.
