Fine-12. Glossy deep chestnut brown surfaces are incredibly uniform in tone. The devices and legends are evenly worn to a pleasing overall smoothness, while the surrounding fields exhibit a matte-like texture as a result of granularity. Despite the texture in the fields, this specimen is surprisingly attractive. As most specimens known of this rare variety grade Fine or less, this specimen...  more

Fine-12 in terms of wear. Dark ebony brown surfaces exhibit some golden-tan toning at the high points of the devices and in the fields. Date is a bit weak, the final digit missing as a result of a planchet flaw or other disfigurement at the rim at the lower obverse. Here is a coin that would make a fine place holder for this type or variety in one's collection.

Very Good-8. A relatively well balanced coin with medium brown toning. A few areas of light porosity are noted, otherwise the surfaces are mostly hard. Some of the rim has been heavily ''spooned'' in an attempt to smooth it out. Here is a coin that has a decent appearance and should be seriously considered.
1784 1793 S.9. Wreath. Plain Edge(?) G-6 $2,200.00

Good-6. Here is an enigmatic Wreath Cent with what appears to be a Plain Edge, a subvariety of which only two were previously known. Close scrutiny under magnification reveals a few light marks that appear to be the faint remnants of the bars that would be found on the Vine and Bars edge. The coin is in a very late die state with the reverse die failing at the lower right area of the...  more

1793 S.10 (R-4). Wreath. Vine & Bars Edge. Fine-12 or better from the actual standpoint of wear. However,...
Fine-12 or better from the actual standpoint of wear. However, fields and devices exhibit a uniform, pebbly quality that is either the result of porosity or some attempt to enhance this coin's surfaces. What appears like a lamination has peeled back from the rim at 2:00 on the obverse and become a part of Miss Liberty's forehead. Date and sprig above date are strong, making this a fine specimen...  more
