This obverse bears 15 stars, the 11th jammed against 'Y' of LIBERTY, piercing the letter at its right top and firmly joining star 12. The Small Eagle reverse is meticulously detailed with all leaves, berries and feathers crisp and clear. A wealth of frosty lustre covers both sides of this exciting coin, creating jewel-like radiance and breath-taking beauty. Here is a boldly glittering example of the first date of U. S. Gold coinage that could be scarcely surpassed by any other specimen available today. The number of 1795 pieces appearing at auction recorded over 10 years by Garrett and Dannreuther in this or higher grade can be counted on the fingers of one hand.
