Commander Duncan Ingraham threatened to open fire on the Austrian vessel to force the release of captured Hungarian 1848 revolutionary Koszta, who had proclaimed his intention to seek asylum and citizenship in the U.S. Rev. Tribute of President and Congress to Ingraham's GALLANT AND JUDICIOUS CONDUCT in rescuing Koszta at gunpoint. Handsome red mahogany patina.
