Pine Tree, MASSACHUSETTS, general design of the 1652 Massachusetts Colonial Silver coinage. Rev. Centennial dates, US monogram, poetic quote ''Sail on O Union Strong and Great.'' One of 20 struck in Gold, but far rarer in terms of actual examples known today than even this tiny number might suggest. A classic rarity of the 1876 Centennial celebration reappearing on the numismatic market after 24 years.
