IP-49, Betts 401. George II Indian Peace Medal, 1757. Copper bronzed, 44mm. By Edward Duffield. About Uncirculated. Obv. Mailed bust l. Rev. Colonist, Indian with peace pipe. First created by the Friendly Society for Regaining and Preserving Peace with the Indians by Pacific Means, restruck by U.S. Mint. This medal represents the terminal die state, showing the obverse divided into four planes like the facets of a diamond. In an especially luxurious gilt and black 17 x 15cm frame.
