RHODE ISLAND REDATED 1738 REPRINTS FROM THE ORIGINAL PLATES. Colony of Rhode Island. August 22, 1738. One Shilling. Not numbered, nor signed. Printed on thick, white laid paper. 85mm by 110mm. Face and back, printed in black, from plates by William Claggett. Text block between two columns with capitals. At lower left, Arms with motto IN TE DOMINE SPERAVI (In you, Lord, I have hope). Date 1738 at the lower right. Ornate back with denomination and date in the center. Face shows signs of poor inking. About Uncirculated, but a face foxing spot and the back is off center to the right; Two Shillings & Six Pence. Not numbered, nor signed. Printed on thick, white laid paper with crowned crescent and large fleur-de-lis watermark. 85mm by 110mm. Face and back, printed in black, from plates by William Claggett. Text block within ornate frame; top with swirl. At lower left, Arms with motto IN TE DOMINE SPERAVI (In you, Lord, I have hope). Date 1738 at the lower right. A sharp reprint on excellent paper, the sheet mate to the Ten Shillings to follow. Ornate back with denomination and date in the center. Some faint signs of poor face inking and the back is off center, otherwise New;

Three Shillings.
Not numbered, nor signed. Printed on white laid paper. 85mm by 110mm. Face and back, printed in black, from plates by William Claggett. Text block within a different ornate frame; top with rectangular frieze for serial number. At lower left, Arms with motto at base: IN TE DOMINE SPERAVI (In you, Lord, I have hope). Date 1738 at the lower right. Ornate back with denomination and date in the center. A few spots on the face from ink smears. New, with light handling and a tiny nick on the left bottom edge; Five Shillings (A Crown). Not numbered, nor signed. Printed on white laid paper. 85mm by 110mm. Face and back, printed in black, from plates by William Claggett. Text block within an oval frame, topped with a crown and with ornate scroll work in the surrounding corners. At lower left, Arms with motto IN TE DOMINE SPERAVI (In you, Lord, I have hope) on a scroll. Date 1738 at the lower right. Ornate back with denomination, ''A Crown'', and date in the center. Ink smear spots on the face, the back even more so. Extremely Fine, folded and pencil code notation at the upper right back corner;

Ten Shillings. Not numbered, nor signed. Printed on white laid paper. 85mm by 110mm. Face and back, printed in black, from plates by William Claggett. Text block between upper ornate engraving and bottom divider. At lower left, Arms with motto IN TE DOMINE SPERAVI (In you, Lord, I have hope) surrounding anchor. Date 1738 on both sides. Ornate back with denomination and date in the center. Some ink smears on the face and back. Extremely Fine. A pencil code notation ''url'' at the upper right back corner. 5 pieces.
