North-Carolina. April 23, 1761 Act. Uncut pane of four notes, Twenty Shillings-Five Shillings/Fifteen Shillings-Ten Shillings, left two notes 180 degrees orientation to the right two notes. No.2519-1519/1519-1519. Signed by Sam.(uel) Swann, John Starkey, Lewis De Rosset, and Jn. Swann [different order, on different notes]. Printed on laid paper with crown and Royal Arms watermark showing at the top. 190mm by 141mm. All are typeset notes, by James Davis, in black, mixed fonts and with ornamental borders. Very Fine, but partially cut. The horizontal gutter is cut through 75% towards the right. Some splitting on the gutter fold at the right. The left end is trimmed tight and there is a large ink burn stain between two notes, mostly affecting the Five Shillings. Despite this, the individual notes are basically About Uncirculated or so. Each note has an identical pen endorsement on the back.
Ex T.P. Warfield (Privately, May 7, 1961).
