Colony of New York. May 12, 1755. Ten Shillings. No.1598(?). Signed by Gab.(riel) Ludlow, J.(ames)...Colony of New York. May 12, 1755. Ten Shillings. No.1598(?). Signed by Gab.(riel) Ludlow, J.(ames) DePeyster, and David Clarkson. Printed on much thicker, coarse paper. Uniface with dark back, printed in black by James Parker. New York Arms to the left side, border cuts at top and right with denomination inside seal. Anti-raising device of two crowns top center. Only 2,000 notes authorized of this denomination and from a rare series. Good to Very Good, heavy vertical fold and some splitting. The note is a bit dark with rounding of the corners. The back is separating from face printed paper in two places.
