New Jersey. October 20, 1758. Three Pounds. No.11870. Plate A. Signed by Jos.(eph) Yard, Ja.(mes) Hude [?, very faint], and A. Johnston. Printed on slightly thick paper, standard designs with face in red and black, and back in black, by James Parker. This denomination comes as ''A'' and ''B'' plate positions. A very short print run of 500 notes per Newman's data. For this note, close to Very Fine. Folded, but not broken or split. Even soiling on both sides with some rounding.
Not priced above Very Good in Newman. Doug Ball thought enough of this type to give it a $225.00 estimate in the Affleck-Ball catalogue in 1975. Many of these New Jersey types are way underrated for value in above average grades.
