
Colony of Connecticut. May 10, 1770. Two Shillings Six Pence. No.2563. Signed by William Pitkin, Benj.(amin) Payne and George Wyllys (faint). Assembly at Hartford. Imprint similar to March 8, 1764, 'New-London, Printed by Timothy Green 1770'. Very Good to Fine, quarter folded with some signs of splitting on a note that is mounted on a thin white card. Pleasant face appeal and quite scarce.
These notes were due on May 10, 1772, but the interest rate was now cut down to only 2.5%. 10,000 Pounds of these notes were authorized and it was usual for the notes to be slash or hole cancelled upon redemption.
