 May 10, 1775. $20. No.3848. Signed by Luke Morris and Mor.(decai) Lewis. A superb vignette with a face creating a strong wind across the waves, legend VI CONCINATE (Driven by force). The back has a thematic rendition also with a blazing sun over ships on a calm sea, legend CESSANTE VENTO CONQUIESCEMUS (When the storm dies down we will rest). Printed on Marbled Edged Paper, obtained by Benjamin Franklin for use by the Continental Congress.
A superb example, with bold multi-color at the left. A boldly printed and fully Crisp Uncirculated note. The appearance of gem from the face with mind numbing embossing and originality. The marbled border is wide and the margins broad and well centered. However, there is a tear at the left which ''lifts'' the color when slightly bent. On the verso, behind the color border, the note also ''lifts'' off the thicker surface and is foxed from an old dismounting. If not for this flaw, the note would be essentially perfect and Condition Census. There is a pinhole at the lower left and the back right margin is trimmed in slightly.

That is ancient history now and we expect this note to receive much attention with its exceptional combination of beauty, history, pedigree and superior condition.
